DM0400 - The ancient Japanese art of Suminagashi or "Floating Ink" is the process of decorating handmade paper with inks. Believed to be as old as 2000 years from China, it is a precursor to the process of modern offset ink printing- in which the ink and water do not mix. What is truly unique about Suminagashi is that each piece of paper has a completely unique texture like that of a fingerprint or woodgrain texture. Boxes or any unique packaging made from these papers will be one of a kind- and hence could be incredibly valuable as pieces of art
